Thanks to Morgan Sheff Photography & The Photographer's Guild!

For a second year in a row, The Lab and our students have been the lucky recipients of the generous spirits of Morgan Sheff and Webb White.  Thanks to these two men, quality school photos are possible for our students!

Morgan Sheff, of Morgan Sheff Photography, shared his photography talents with students at Harding, Murray and River East.  Morgan brought his great photography skills to The Lab @ Homecroft, and took fabulous school pictures for our students. Each student received a special pack of photos, wallet sized and larger prints to share with their families.  Check out Morgan's website: http://www.morgansheffphotography.com

Webb White, of Photographer's Guild on Snelling Avenue, donated the printing of all of the great photos.    Check out their website to learn more about this great and local photography business. http://www.photographersguild.com/

Lab Youth Poetry & Art Anthology: Can You Help Us Get it Published?

We are getting ready to send the 8th volume of The Lab Youth Poetry & Art Anthology to the printer.  However, we need your help!  Printing is an expensive endeavor.  Can you donate (even a small amount) to help us publish enough of these books so that each youth poet can have 2 copies?  We are working to raise $500 for this final spring Lab project.

A Poem, by a River East Student

Thinking of Myself

Sometimes when I think about myself
I think of funny, strong and positive
And sometimes when I think of myself
I only see the negative things
I need to improve on
But even that’s improvement.

At one time I think of myself
As funny, smart and cool
And other times it’s
Big, bad and cruel
Depressed, anxious, mad
All emotions that I’ve had
But none of them are necessarily bad.
