I Believe
I believe that everybody
should get a chance
I can reach my hand out
hope you grab my hand
I'm taking one last step
one last chance to tell people
how I felt
I had a lot of feelings built
stuck in my chest
hope that I can let 'em out
An lay the bad things to rest
See me
I feel pain when I flex
I use to be depressed
now I feel that I'm the best
Stayed locked up
dealing wit a lot of stress
hit 18 now
I'm focused on success
Moved to St. Paul,
mom's hoping for the best
Go to sleep dreaming
thinking 'bout the next arrest

Chuck & Don's Sponsors Animal Assisted Education @ The LAB
We'd like to send a big THANK YOU to Chuck & Don's Petfood Outlet,
our primary supporters of Animal Assisted Education at The LAB. Since last spring, they have donated $1,000 to support the Animal Assisted Education groups that we provide during all of our Enrichment shows.
Paws for Learning has been our main partner in this good work. In partnership with therapy dogs, the staff of Paws for Learning takes youth through various lessons including: improving skills in social/emotional health, communication skills, reading body language, understanding, accepting and setting boundaries, and compassion. Thank you again, to Chuck and Don's and to Paws for Learning!
The Photographer’s Guild, (located at 161 Snelling Avenue across from O'Gara's), is offering a special deal to help fundraise for The LAB. Between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31
, the price of your family portrait photo shoot all goes to The LAB. In addition, when you order prints, a portion of that cost goes to The LAB too!
Photo shoots range from $40 - $75. Your family portrait will make a great holiday postcard or something fun to hang up for 2010 memories! Just schedule a sitting with the Photographer’s Guild and tell them you’re supporting The LAB. Call them directly at 651.646.3239.
The money raised in this effort is going to support a partnership between The LAB and the St. Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN), a local organization that gives youth access and opportunities to create community media with a lasting impact
. Youth develop skills in media production, critical thinking, and community awareness. This spring SPNN will offer an 8-week small group experience in video production with students at The LAB. SPNN provides amazing youth programming already, and they will adapt their curriculum for The LAB to use in the future.
This is an awesome partnership, and we need your help to fund it. We hope you’ll help out!
Spin Your Way to Donors Choose!
Check out our new Donors Choose fundraising project we have currently posted. We are fundraising to hire a great resource, Kathy Flaminio,
to facilitate an exciting new group offering at The Lab – SPINNING! Kathy is the owner of 1000 Petals (www.1000-petals.com).
Once this project is funded, Kathy will take our youth on a journey of self-discovery in the world of spinning on the bike. She will encourage youth to test their limits, persevere when the challenge gets physically tough, and bridge these concepts to the challenges we face in every day life. Kathy will help our youth integrate their minds, body and & heart.
